I don’t know about you but some days I’m just not feeling it. I’m not exactly sure whether “it” is life, myself, or y’all. I know I’m not making sense but this is how I feel sometimes. I have a few tips that I like to incorporate that helps me feel better. So let’s chat.
Tip 1
AFFIRMATIONS
Say it with me… affirmations
When I was introduced to listening to affirmations I honestly thought they were cheesy. I know I’m beautiful, why I need to look in the mirror and tell myself that. Y’all trust me, give yourself three days doing three minute affirmations. You will thank me. Affirmations contribute to not only mental health but confidence.
Tip 2
BUBBLE BATH
You read that correct, a dang on bubble bath. I know bubbles aren’t good for our ph balance but boo take that bubble bath. Those probiotics got your back and if you need a recommendation (Nature Bounty extra strength) are the ones I take. Relax, have Siri, Google, or Alexa turn on some tunes, you can even listen to an audiobook. You’ll get out that tub feeling like Stella, do you hear me.
Tip 3
SUNLIGHT
Take a stroll around your block, I always thought it was the breeze that makes me feel refreshed but it’s not. It’s the sunlight. When you walk out your door and the sun slaps you so hard you have to squeeze your eyes closed. Really pay attention to how you feel when you reopen your eyes and say “damn it’s hot out here”. If you don’t feel like you can conquer the world you must’ve skipped a meal.
Tip 4
HAPPY MEAL
Oatmeal, eggs, muffins, or smoothie. Whatever you prefer get it. Your favorite snack/meal will have you singing and rocking to a beat that isn’t even playing. Personally, I like ice-cream. Blue bell vanilla to be exact, there’s a sentimental connection between blue bell ice cream and I (we’ll chat about that one day) but that’s my happy meal. Tip 5
APPEARANCE
Have you ever heard the saying you look the way you feel; It’s true! So go ahead and get out of bed, go do your hygiene and skincare routine, take that bonnet/durag off before it gives you a headache, put on some clothes with comfortable shoes, and go be great! P.S. Don’t forget your lip gloss/chapstick.
