Laundry Shenanigans

To be honest, I enjoy laundry day. I like to put on a good television series or play some music and fold away. After doing laundry I love the smell of my home, how organize the drawers are, and seeing the empty baskets. Yet, that satisfaction does not last long.

Can anyone explain to me how clothes pile up so quickly. To be transparent my family and I mainly wear uniforms. I know we use plenty of towels, but I’m referring to actual outfits. I don’t know whether I need to vent or just wanted something to write about today. Either way let’s discuss why I am looking at two baskets of clothes that need to be fold; no to mention there’s a load in the washer and a load in the dryer. So I have a total of four loads of clothes to fold and put away.

Let me rephrase my statement from earlier

I am the type of person who enjoys folding FRESH clothes. You know, the ones that are still hot and smell good when you take them out of the dryer.

If that’s so, how did I get here?? I’ll fill you in now.

On Monday I washed two loads of clothes. My job called and asked me to pick up a shift that night. I agreed. My spouse says, “Get some rest before you go, I’ll fold the clothes up.” I have a hands-on husband(cook, clean, wash clothes) but folding and putting away laundry that’s a no. So, I turned down his offer, but when my daughters agreed to help him, I said okay. I took a shower and got in a nap before heading to work.

Tuesday morning, I came home to the same baskets filled with clothes. I couldn’t fuss too much because I was tired. All I wanted to do was shower and slide into bed. I set my alarm to get up at 1pm, which would give me time to fold clothes before leaving out for another shift. As I was getting up my husband ask me where was I going, I said to fold the clothes. He stated “We already did them.” He must be trying to get browny points I thought while laying back down.

Wednesday morning, I decided to put away the clothes that my family folded.

All jokes aside, the baskets had about four large towels folded and placed on top. The laundry looked folded, yet they weren’t.

They got me good! Everyone was so tickled, my baby girl was rolling all over the floor laughing. I couldn’t even get mad.

So now I am about to fold all these clothes and everyone can wear paper bags from now on since there’s so many tricks up selves around here.

(They weren’t gonna fold them right anyway)

What do you do to make laundry day feel less of a chore?
